Our clinic was established in 1983. We are a family owned businesses and we always strive to provide our clients and patients with the most benefit they could possibly have seeking help with problems related to hearing or so called “hearing disorders”, difficult hearing loses and problems with speech understanding in difficult listening environments. Doing what we do as a clinic for more than 40 years, we still have what used to be called an “old school attitude” to our work where the client or patient is still the most important part of what we do and the financial side of the business is not having any effect on our standards or quality of services.

Using advances in neuroscience and advanced brain conditioning protocols treatment used in our clinic is known to be effective in removing chronic tinnitus from awareness of the suffering person. Working with a team of professionals, every person going through the process is treated as an individual with personal attention and care to the point where chronic tinnitus is gone from the system. We are working closely with the patient as long as it takes to make this happen. For some people it takes months for some other it can take longer, but the combination of TRT , CBT plus psychology interventions (if necessary) with the elements from neuroscience is known to be very effective. This treatment is used in Europe as well in a limited number of clinics in the US for many years. We are proud to be not only one of the very few first in Canada, but the only clinic in Ontario which is able to provide this treatment successfully for more than 15 years. We have positioned ourselves to be much more than just another tinnitus, hyperacusis, misophonia and hearing clinic. Our goal was always to change the life of the person seeing us, in as many ways as possible. This reverse way of thinking about service has provided us with the recognition and “ word of mouth” we are very proud of. Over the years we have also specialized in addressing all difficulties with speech understanding that our clients could possibly have. Using “ LACE” and some other aural rehabilitation programs we were working with our goal to significantly improve speech understanding and not just to enable our clients to hear louder. This required some additional work on our side as well as convincing our clients to do some homework based on our instructions. So, we were seeing them more often than the typical follow up time table used in most hearing clinics, but they enjoyed much greater success in overcoming their problems.

With tinnitus, hyperacusis and misophonia treatments we are using our very unique protocols based not only on the current up to date state of research, but also totally different attitude toward the patient. Some of the differences are also based on true and deep understanding of the Tinnitus Retraining Therapy foundation, but also on priceless experience working with patients for many years. This allows us to work with a much different set of goals as well. Not just to offer only some improvement or relief of tinnitus or hyperacusis or misophonia but the complete relief of tinnitus symptoms including noise in the ears, and complete elimination of hyperacusis and misophonioa symptoms.

Our goal is to stay with the patient to the very end with the tinnitus or misophonia until the problem is gone by providing our treatments which are 2 years long not as a 6 or 8 month maximum offered by some tinnitus clinics. We do this while having most of our patients enjoy a very significant relief of tinnitus within typically the first 4 to 6 months of the treatment. In cases where we see the need to extend treatments to more than 24 months, as for an example caused by some suddenly increased tinnitus setback activity, caused for an example by patient having flu, an ear infection or some traumatic events in his/her life, we stay with the patient and continue to provide him/her with our services as long as its required. Even with the end of the treatments caused by elimination of the chronic tinnitus or misophonia from the life of the patients we still are seeing them time to time to make sure that they are having nothing but a happy and productive life without chronic tinnitus or misophonia.
